{"id":164,"date":"2007-09-22T12:28:37","date_gmt":"2007-09-22T16:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ilias.ca\/blog\/2007\/09\/for-those-wanting-to-localize-the-firefox-support-kb\/"},"modified":"2009-12-13T13:56:00","modified_gmt":"2009-12-13T17:56:00","slug":"for-those-wanting-to-localize-the-firefox-support-kb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ilias.ca\/blog\/2007\/09\/for-those-wanting-to-localize-the-firefox-support-kb\/","title":{"rendered":"For those wanting to localize the Firefox Support KB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unfortunately, <a href=\"http:\/\/jtbatson.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/sumo-knowledge-base-to-be-live.html\">JT&#8217;s blog<\/a> does not allow posting without a Google account; so I&#8217;m posting this here.<\/p>\n<p>On JT&#8217;s blog <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/jtbatson.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/sumo-knowledge-base-to-be-live.html#comment-2726801298332917239\">C\u00c3\u00a9dric<\/a> commented about the lack of localization currently on the Firefox Support knowledge Base. In order to ensure a level of consistency and quality, the growth of the KB has been mostly a controlled growth. Upon reviewing articles, I noticed that quite a few of the articles that needed major revisions, were already localized. It doesn&#8217;t really make sense (to me at least) to start localizing, without a solid en-US base.<\/p>\n<p>We now have around 75 articles that have been reviewed, and deemed ready to go live. Even after that, I can&#8217;t review articles written in a language I don&#8217;t understand. We&#8217;re going to need l10n leaders to take on reviewer roles.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone wanting to get more involved, please feel free to speak up in the <a href=\"http:\/\/support-stage.mozilla.org\/tiki-index.php?page=Contributor+Home+Page#Mailing_List_Newsgroup\">mozilla.support.planning newsgroup<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unfortunately, JT&#8217;s blog does not allow posting without a Google account; so I&#8217;m posting this here.
